Week of Senior Olympic Games Continue at Trillium Woods
The Olympic Games at Trillium Woods continued, featuring 70 senior athletes competing in a variety of events.
The Snowball Throw Finals brought together the top five men and top five women throwers to compete for medals. Hockey Shooting followed, with men and women competing in the Auditorium.
Athletes represented Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Japan, and Switzerland as part of the week of competition, which included medals and a tri-level podium.
Among the residents competing was 87-year-old Myrna MacKinnon, who was a member of the 1983 championship team of the U.S. Women’s Curling Association. At that time, women’s curling was not yet an Olympic sport.
