A Celebration of Art, Community, and 40 July Birthdays at Trillium Woods
Trillium Woods marked a major milestone with a one-of-a-kind celebration that brought together creativity, community, and local pride. On Wednesday, July 16, the senior living community hosted a special event on the Grand Terrace to commemorate its 10th anniversary—and to honor 40 residents with July birthdays ranging in age from 72 to 96.

At the heart of the celebration was a captivating live painting demonstration by renowned Minneapolis artist Adam Turman, whose work has become synonymous with Minnesota’s bold, vibrant culture. Known for his “deep local” style and love of Midwestern iconography, Turman created an expansive piece of art in real time, painting a cradled wood panel featuring trillium flowers, birch trees, Lake Camelot, swans, and lily pads—all inspired by the natural beauty surrounding Trillium Woods.
Guests enjoyed locally sourced cuisine and an atmosphere filled with joy, storytelling, and artistic inspiration. Adding a touch of serendipity to the event, one Trillium Woods resident proudly shared that her daughter had once taught Adam a color theory course at the University of Minnesota—a lesson he still credits with influencing his painting style today.
This celebration was more than just a birthday party. It was a reflection of Trillium Woods’ deep commitment to supporting local artists, businesses, and community spirit. That same commitment can be seen in the community’s $56 million expansion project, which currently employs over 110 workers across 40 Minnesota companies, all helping shape the next decade of excellence at Trillium Woods.
With the sun shining and paintbrush in motion, the 10th anniversary celebration was a memorable tribute to the people and partnerships that make Trillium Woods such a vibrant place to live.
