Summer Games Return to Trillium Woods
As top athletes from around the world battled it out at the Tokyo Olympic Games this summer, the residents and staff at Trillium Woods were showing off their own determination and athletic ability at the Trillium Woods Summer Games. This Olympic-style competition has been held at the community every other year since 2016, but was put on hold in 2020 – making residents even more excited to get out and compete and cheer on their friends and neighbors.
Ten teams of more than 120 residents competed in this weeklong celebration of games and activities – the highest participation yet, for the third year of the Games! The events included chair volleyball, a putting green competition, bocce ball, pool noodle javelin, bucket ball, pool relay races, pickleball and basketball shooting – some of which took place in the new outdoor recreation area. Team England (red team) ended up winning the gold.
Jason from The Jason Show even stopped by to avenge his loss from the 2018 Summer Games, going head to head with Ann in the pool noodle javelin event. Watch Ann come out on top and the intense competition here. Check out this Star Tribune feature for more pictures from the noodle javelin event.
