Trillium Woods Executive Director Elizabeth Ann Fetner was recently featured as a guest on the Gerontological Society of America “GSA on Aging” podcast to discuss the many engaging careers in aging services. Elizabeth Ann shares why she loves working in this important field at Trillium Woods.

“Folks I work with are talented and caring individuals,” says Elizabeth Ann. “And the residents we serve are truly inspirational and they’re caring, too.”

Although many think aging services are limited to healthcare, Elizabeth Ann emphasizes the variety of career opportunities in this industry. From the developers who create the senior living communities, to the human resources experts who hire the talented, caring staff — the possibilities are virtually endless.

Elizabeth Ann urges anyone interested in the field to simply pick up the phone or set up a visit at a senior living community. Don’t be afraid to reach out and ask questions, and see if a career in aging services is the right fit for you.

“I think you’ll find in aging services that you definitely get more out of it than you give,” says Elizabeth Ann. “And that’s definitely something that’s unique and very rewarding.”
